Viscosity
Index Improvers
Viscosity Index Improvers provide viscosity modification to
a finished lubricant (usually automotive fluids, but may also
be used in power transmission, railroad, and natural gas
multigrade fluids), delivering efficient performance across a
wide range of operating temperatures. Westoil takes pride in
offering its customers the unbeatable combination of Chevron
Oronite’s premium DI additive systems and the world renowned
PARATONE ® family of Viscosity Index Improvers (VIIs).
As the operating temperature rises in service, PARATONE VII
provide thickening properties to prevent loss of fluid
viscosity. At low operating temperatures, it contributes
minimal fluid thickening under shearing conditions and
performs much better in the Cold Cranking Simulator test.
Choosing PARATONE for your demanding service applications
assures you of optimum fluid viscometrics. Lube manufacturers
worldwide recognize PARATONE VIIs for accurate and flexible
blending.
PARATONE VIIs provides the following:
 |
Superior polymer thickening power
|
 |
Improved finished oil cold-cranking viscosity. It allows
a greater variety of base stocks and enables the use of
heavier, less volatile base stocks.
|
 |
Best overall balance of performance across a wide range
of operating conditions |
PARATONE VIIs are available in the following forms:
 |
Solid pellets or bales, and as liquid concentrates*
|
 |
With various levels of Shear Stability Index (SSI) so
you can balance shear breakdown and thickening power
|
 |
In mono and multifunctional (dispersant) families*
|
*Note: with and without pour point depressant.
